I upgraded to that press recently from the regular old plunger style presses. It does need a little bit more ass, I may remake the frame out of steel while keeping the lead screw mechanism. Couple of tips from pro watchmaker: The first die you were using to try to press on the bezel was too wide and it was simply flaring out instead of pushing down. If the bezel doesn't interfere with the crystal I would have done the bezel first cuz you wouldn't have to worry about clearing the crystal with the die. I didn't notice if there was something about the case where you have to put the dial in first, but I always do case assembly like that with the movement out if I can. Just makes it a lot less likely you'll damage your dial hands and movement if something goes wrong. Finally I saw you had the whole case sitting on its case back on the aluminum die on the bottom of the press. This is contraindicated to say the least as it can collapse the case back. I always use a dye that contacts the case solidly on its own flanks not on the case back itself. Hope this helps, keep up the great videos I really enjoy your channel!

Shouldn’t you check the natural date change before manually changing it thus knowing what time the watch is set to? Manually changing the date when it’s close to 12 am can damage the date change components No?

Can't believe the price of those dials tho I could buy a very decent watch for that. I did try to take off a bezel from a watch didn't realise the bezel gear would brake and I've not Been able to find a replacement one. When starting out tying repairs you always seem to mess it up but you do learn from the mistakes it just isn't easy. That's why it is costly to send them off. I was quoted over£300 to get it fixed which is way more than the watch cost 😮 so it is still broken. But it was a invicta legend which isn't available any more or atleast I could not find one. 😢 but I did learn from it. 😊

If you want something that will take those burrs off the dial, you can use a countersink bit with your hand and lightly twist it in the dial hole to remove the burrs. Like just let the weight of the bit act as the pressure you apply. It works for small stuff like this as a deburring tool and I got it to work well on my NH34 build that uses an NH35 dial. Much cleaner and easier to use than going in with tweezers or rodico to clean it up. Keep up the wonderful videos!

@@ItsAnotherWatch So I am in it now, e-thing went great, the hands, chap ring, bezel and insert went on fine, though the second hand was a challenge, but aside from the bracelet probs the crystal keeps crushing the gaskets (funny how the Namoki gaskets have that little kick-in edge at the bottom), AND in the USA any additional parts take more than 2 weeks. @@wrthrash Unfortunately Crystal setting for me is the thing I'm not great at. My recommendation would be is to go on AliExpress and order a bunch of crystal gaskets since you can get 10 for cheap. Here's a link: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004098563832.html The listing says: 31.5 x 1.4 x 0.35mm for SKX007. I've never actually measured the gaskets, but I assume this is correct. Just make sure that you're crystal is the correct side up (if its a flat edgeless crystal might be tough to tell so try flipping it over and seeing if it goes in any better, but if its a domed or sloped edge then ignore this). Try and rest it on top as flat as you can get it before pressing it down. I don't really have much advice for getting it right since I usually just set it on top and press it in hoping for the best. But at least you can have several attempts if you buy a bunch of gaskets to practice with until it goes in properly. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

It's been a while, but I think at the time it was to do with price and lume quality. And since MonsterWatches hands were a known quantity to me, I opted for them instead. Although after doing the "budget" 6105 build after this one, I actually preferred the wider Steeldive hands that went on that, especially after I relumed them to match perfectly. My one minor nitpick with the build in this video is the hands are a bit thin (as were the original 6105) and so I like the slightly modern take on my budget 6105 build a bit more.
